What TalkToSoul is designed to do

TalkToSoul uses questionnaires and AI-assisted reflection to help people notice patterns, find language for an experience, and consider a practical next step. It is designed for education and self-reflection.

It is not a medical or psychological diagnosis, a clinical assessment, therapy, crisis support, or a substitute for a qualified professional. A result describes patterns in the answers provided at one point in time. It does not determine identity, ability, suitability for a job, or the future of a relationship.

Frameworks do not have equal evidence

Big Five

The Big Five is a dimensional model of personality traits: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. It has a substantial research base, but the quality of any result still depends on the questionnaire, scoring method, language, context, and response quality. TalkToSoul results should not be treated as clinical scores.

For public-domain items and background on scale construction, see the International Personality Item Pool.

Enneagram, DISC, True Colors, and SBTI

These frameworks are presented as structured lenses for reflection and conversation. They differ in origin, measurement approach, and research support. TalkToSoul does not claim that they are equivalent to the Big Five or to validated clinical instruments. SBTI is an entertainment-oriented, proprietary framework and should be read accordingly.

How scoring and AI interpretation work

Questionnaire answers are converted into dimension or type scores using the scoring rules attached to that assessment. The result page then combines those scores with authored explanatory material. When AI features are used, the model receives relevant result context and the situation the user chooses to share.

AI output can be incomplete, overly confident, or wrong. It should be checked against lived experience and reliable sources. TalkToSoul does not use AI wording as evidence that an assessment is valid.

What a score means

A score is a summary of the answers submitted in that session. Dimension-based assessments compare item responses within the scoring range of that questionnaire. Type-based assessments select or rank the closest configured pattern. A close result is not proof of a fixed type, and a small difference between two scores should not be over-interpreted.

We do not silently convert a TalkToSoul result into a clinical diagnosis, population percentile, hiring recommendation, or prediction about a relationship. If an assessment page does not publish norms, reliability estimates, or an independent validation study, readers should assume those claims have not been established for that implementation.

Translation and version limits

Translated questions aim to preserve meaning, but language and culture can change how an item is understood. Versions may also change when wording, scoring, or safety guidance is corrected. Results from different languages or versions should not be treated as perfectly interchangeable.

Editorial review and sources

The product team writes and maintains explanatory content. Research claims should link to a primary source or a stable technical reference where practical. Product explanations, reflective prompts, and framework descriptions are reviewed separately from generated AI conversations. A page names an external reviewer only when that person actually reviewed the stated material.

Corrections are evaluated against the cited source, the implemented scoring rule, and the wording in every supported language. Material corrections update the page date; historical results are not rewritten to create the appearance that an earlier answer used a newer method.

Privacy and data handling

Some test progress and reports are stored on the current device. Account and AI conversation features may process data differently. Read the Privacy Policy before sharing sensitive information, and avoid entering information you do not want processed by an online service.

Safety

Do not use TalkToSoul to make a diagnosis or an urgent safety decision. If you may harm yourself or someone else, contact local emergency services or a crisis line immediately. For persistent distress or decisions involving health, seek a qualified local professional.

Editorial status and corrections

Method and explanatory content is maintained by the TalkToSoul product team. It has not been independently clinically validated unless a page explicitly names a reviewer and the scope of that review. We prefer bounded claims, primary sources, visible update dates, and corrections over implied certainty.

To report an error, unsupported claim, translation issue, or safety concern, email support@talktosoul.com with the page URL and the passage involved.
